McCann Wedding | Josh & Jennifer

I've been booking a lot of bride and grooms with perfectly alliterated names. Brett & Brittany. Richard & Rachel. Keeton & Kristen. Chris & Kendra. Josh & Jennifer. and LOTS of Matts: Matt & Orlie. Matt & Jordan. Matt & Jennifer, etc. haha.. it's getting a little weird, but I have been blessed with so many great couples this year.. so many different stories, personalities, life goals, and crazy wedding plans. One of my favorite things about meeting and getting to know my couples is the moment when you instantly click and know the whole wedding process is going to be a blast. :) I'm sure you remember Josh & Jennifer from their engagement session back in May. I wrote about Josh, his great excited facial expressions and how much he adored Jennifer. Welp, I see why. Jennifer is such a gentle soul. Her entire wedding day, I kept thinking she was the definition of Proverbs 31:30. We throw the phrase "31:30 girl" around a lot when we meet and get to know godly women, but when prepping to write this blog post, I began to read about what that really means. What does it mean to fear the Lord? Here is a short excerpt from an article on a 'Proverbs 31:30 woman':

"Proverbs 31:30- "Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised."

First, a woman who fears the Lord is not anxious about the future."Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come." Satan dangles in front of her the specter of tomorrow's troubles, but she glances up at the almighty God at her right hand and laughs at Satan's folly.
Second, the woman who fears the Lord has practical wisdom. "She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue." "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" (Proverbs 9:10), so it's no surprise that the woman who fears the Lord "opens her mouth with wisdom."
Third, the woman who fears the Lord is strong. Verse 25, "Strength and dignity are her clothing." Verse 17, "She girds her loins with strength and makes her arms strong." She will be morally strong. Proverbs 23:17 says, "Let not your heart envy sinners, but continue in the fear of the Lord all the day." The woman who continues in the fear of the Lord will have power to resist all the allurements to envy, to desire what she shouldn't have.
Fourth, a woman who fears the Lord will live not for herself alone but for others, especially her husband, if she is married. Verses 11, 12, "The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not harm all the days of her life." A woman who fears the Lord will have the complete trust of her husband because she is for him and not against him."

After reading this, I smiled and nodded. Yup. This is Jennifer. Sure, we will all mess up, fall short, and miss this mark, but it is apparent that this is what she strives to be. What a beautiful thing, and what a divine thing that Josh was seeking a woman after Christ's own heart, and found this rare and Christlike beauty in Jennifer. She is to be praised, and I pray/know that, together, Josh & Jennifer will glorify God in serving each other and others as one. Bah! I love these two. Here are some frames from their beautiful wedding day at the Spirit Ranch. :)

Jennifer has been writing letters to her future husband for a long time. To receive one of those letters from your future wife on your wedding day must have been pretty cool. :) Josh was happy.
