30-Day Challenge | Life

1. I live in the same town as my parents. 2. I don't have cable.

Occasionally, I'll head over to Mom & Dad's to watch a show or two with them.. something trashy and girly with Mom.. something like the History channel or Andy Griffith with Dad. Recently, I was over at their house, emailing away on my laptop while I caught up on some silly show. I felt like I kept emailing and emailing and emailing, never making a dint in my inbox.

I finally looked up to check the time; it was almost 4am. I had been working and emailing for HOURS. I threw my hands up and thought, "I need a chocolate." I made my way to the pantry cabinet and snatched a Dove dark chocolate. It read:

"Take care of yourself."

I ate my chocolate, closed my laptop, drove home, and slept. The next morning, I got back to work. I began to email again, and a client had replied to my email from the night before; Her exact words were,

"Sounds like you are beyond busy. Make sure you are taking time for yourself. You are too special!"

I melted. Such grace is precious to me.

I'm telling you all this to let you know that I will be taking at least 5 minutes a day for the next month toward a 30-day photo project. I've seen ideas like these all over the place, but I've decided I just need to do it. I must keep my creative juices flowing so I can continue to love what I do.. which isn't emailing. It's photography. One of my greatest friends on the planet will be taking on the challenge as well! Keep up with Ashley HERE on her tumblr to see her take on this.

Whew. Here's to you Dove Chocolate!
