I can't say enough about how grateful I am for the couples I've booked for 2012 weddings thus far. Unbelievable people.
For those of you who know me, you know I love the band, Needtobreathe. (I must take a second to give full credit to my roommate, Hannah, for introducing me to their beautiful sound years ago. Thanks, yo.) Well, I'm a "Repeater". I'm the type of person that finds a song that I like, listens to it on repeat for weeks, and then I move on to another song only to do the same. Since NTB's new album came out, I have been "hooked" on every song and have listened to each one on repeat for a time. The lyrics speak VOLUMES to me.
Sometimes I try to carry my own stuff by myself: my burdens, my insecurities, my business, my ugliness, my sadness, my "funks". Recently, I've learned (still learning) how freeing it is to confide in someone you trust to help you carry those things with you. Side by side, they'll walk with you, cry with you, and love you through ALL of it. I don't think we, as humans, are supposed to carry our loads on our own, and that is such a WONDERFUL thing. This blog post features a couple that displays such a deep love, I felt a weird sense of tranquility when photographing them. When chaos barges in on their lives, I know they will find rest. Their God is faithful. :) This is part of the song that was on repeat in my car before and after photographing these two. Hear the whole song HERE.
There's a host of hurts we come across
None of which alike
From the air inside the birthing room
To the darkness where we die
Though I feel I'm just as strong as any man I know
I'm not able on my own
Carry round the secrets
Only heaven knows
Crawl into our darkened rooms where only victims go
Though I feel I'm strong enough to carry all this load
I'm not able on my own
Blog-readers, meet Aaron & Emily. :)

This is a pose that mimics an old photo of an aunt and uncle in a cotton field. We tried our best. I hope we matched it. :)

At the end of the shoot, I asked Emily to tell Aaron how much she appreciated him by simply touching his face. No kisses or words allowed. I think he knows.
